Dear authors,
I’m happy to be writing you on this final day of Jami Attenberg’s 1000 Words of Summer – have you been participating in it too?
Whether you have (and want to keep the magic going), or not at all, I’m excited to share that our own writing challenge launches tomorrow 15 June.
You don’t have to write 1000 words, you don’t have to write Julia Cameron’s three pages, you don’t have to spend any specific amount of time—
You just have to write every day.
One page counts. One minute counts. Heck, even one word like how you are feeling in the middle of a journal counts for this challenge – because the goal is not to create an oppressive writing burden, but rather to establish a daily habit that retains a sense of joy and ease.
This is writing as self-care. This is writing as ritual. This is writing as a restful daily act, etc etc.
As email subscribers, each day for 2 weeks you’ll receive a reminder via email & an inspirational note by one of the writers in our community to keep you going.
And if you’re a paid subscriber (just £5 per month), you’ll also receive:
✍️ Daily writing prompt(s) that vary between introspective journal Qs, short story ideas, & poetry prompts
💅 The ability to be our daily featured author & share a bit about your work via a lovely author interview (something I am very excited to debut!)
🥳 The ability to join us in the comment section as we celebrate our progress each day – whether you want to share your daily word count, links to your substack/blog/socials, or simply a few emojis to join in the community spirit 💪 ✅ 🙌
🥰 An end-of-July virtual writing marathon via zoom
👩💻 Plus the ongoing writing challenge via newsletter as we work to keep it up after the initial 2 weeks…
I am really excited about this endeavor, and to band together around the world to build this beautiful daily habit together.
I hope you will join us!
See you tomorrow x
